My little Blessing

Still when I look at this little girl, not even a baby anymore, I think about how God has blessed me. Yes I know that my boys are a blessing but she seems like a miracle. She is my daily reminder on all the possibilites that are out there with God. I've always imagined having the ideal 1 boy 1 girl family. I was even positive that Jeffrey was going to be a girl. Then when I was pregnant with Riley I knew for sure that I was going to get that "picture perfect" family. Baby number 3....God sure does have a sense of humor. 3 boys are you serious?! Well that was our last shot. All hope of a little princess, dresses, pink were gone. 3 boys I got this no problem. Life is gonna be boogers & farts at the table. Eww.

THEN.........

My miracle happened.

OK so I wasn't too thrilled to be pregnant again.

I even cried my eyes out at work in front of everyone.

4 kids! What am I gonna do with 4 BOYS.

Yea I doubted the power of God.

On May 4, 2009 God showed me He was in charge when He gave me Rebekah Avery.

Now she's going to be 2 in just a day!

I threw her a party on Saturday. It was Yo Gabba Gabba themed. She loves those strange little characters. I planned for over a month. I even got a wild hair up my well you know to make her invites myself. The crazy things we do for the ones we love. Maybe i've convinced myself that shes gonna remember this day. I made all her decorations and if I didn't I got everything else at the dollar store. I made her cake and I put all my sisters and my mom to work.

After a much needed nap Bekah was ready to party!! She was all over the place. She was in sugar heaven. All kinds of treats at her eye level. My most favorite part was when it was cake time. I cut her piece and she was so excited. She even helped herself to the entire cake. Her piece was not enough. At times she needed a little cake break so she would run and play then come back and eat more cake. She would not allow anyone to sit in her chair. I caught her one time yelling at her cousin. Not one close in age with her. She was yelling at her 12 year old cousin to get out of her "special" chair. Shes a girl who knows what she wants.

Opening presents in her Princess chair, hitting the pinata, and blowing bubbles left me with a very happy little girl. At the end of the day when everyone left, I bathed my frosting faced baby girl and put her jammies on. When I laid her in bed she just smiled and said love yooo.

God is AMAZING!

Below are some party pics...

Happy Easter!!

I use to love certain holidays when I was a kid. Well actually only the ones where I knew I would be getting something...Halloween, Christmas, Easter..... but now that I am all grown up I think I love it even more. I love the feelings of anticipation I get when I want my kids to see their special things that they got on whatever holiday it might be. Mostly I love that my kids know the reasons we celebrate some of the holidays we do.

You can ask the older ones what the meaning of Christmas is and they will definately not tell you its about the Christmas tree or the presents that go under it. You can ask them why we celebrate Easter and again they for sure will not say its about bunnies and eggs.

So while we dye our eggs together as a family we remind each other that although the birth of Jesus was important it would mean nothing if he didn't die for us as well.

I'm not saying that all the little things aren't important with Easter though either. It makes for a good excuse for us to come together as a family and hang out, laugh, and just enjoy this moment.

**Rebekah's favorite part seemed to be when she woke up to plastic eggs EVERYWHERE!! She would walk, pick one up, walk to the next....pick that one up until she had 6-7 eggs in her little hands. Then when she figured out there were little goodies in these plastic eggs that made it even better!

**Jacob's favorite was running around the park chasing his cousin Austin with "Gotman" These little monsters were so cute. I didn't have a chance to take their picture because they were all over the place.

**Riley well his face explains it all

**Jeffrey tells me that he is too old and also let me know that the whole reason we celebrate Easter is because of Jesus. So I say "OK you don't need a basket then right?" He says "Thats not what I said!"

Kids are funny....here are a few pictures of them

feelings of accomplishment :)

Remember that feeling you use to get the night before Christmas? Or now that the kids are older the excitement and anticipation you have when you can't wait for the kids to see all their presents under the tree? Well I have pretty much been feelin it last night and all today.
Why? I am not sure. Possibly from that feeling of accomplishing another thing on my list or knowing what is to come. I wanted to do something off my 25 things to accomplish this year list so I went with the cake class.

I'm not going into details about everything I learned. It was exciting for me but probably boring to hear about. Just ask Jeff. His normal response now is "Uh huh..."

Frosting tested and approved
"Nummy in my tummy mom."

My flowers

Final class project (which is super tough to do while making dinner and cleaning the kitchen) Ignore the ugly cracks and the fact it looks like a gramma cake.

I have a few lined up for this month and its pretty scary to do something that is such an important part of someones special moment.

I'm glad that I have great friends that let me use their kids as guinea pigs!  I made a birthday cake for my most favorite 7 year old. This boy melts my heart with his sweet smile. He even ran up to me and said "Mrs. Tara, I LOVE my cake!"

My favorite was the chocolate covered rocks :)
Least favorite- putting a lego jeep together. Where was Riley when I needed him?

I had to add a few more pics of misc things I learned and my favorite people minus Jeffrey because he doesnt like cupcakes

She loves my cupcakes the most :)
My favorite since I was 8!
